What is your background?

Before starting the Data Analyst Course at Wild Code School, I worked for 2 years as a Marketing Manager for an international consultancy company, within the ICT industry. Due to its technological nature, I was able to work remotely, travel and collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds, across time-zones.

Previously to that, I also worked on several other projects, as a freelancer and designer. As a self-taught digital marketeer, I had (and still have!) to do much of the learning by myself, because the learning journey never ends. My main focus is to surround myself with people I can learn from and seek challenges that provide me with the know-how

.What triggered your life change decision?

What triggered my decision of starting this Data Analytics course, was the amount of data I was dealing with every single day.

I started by looking for excel courses, but I needed more than that! I had all these different sources of data that I had to look at, and for me, it was really important to learn how to extract the most value out of this data.

I wanted to be able to use data to make better decisions and to understand customer behaviours, preferences and trends. So, my goal is not to switch careers, but to get technical foundations to evolve as a professional and to help companies implement data-driven strategies for business transformation.

What was your main motivation(s) to enroll for this specific training rather than another one?

Data and Analytics power organizations' marketing programs, so for me it was a natural progression to learn how to use data to leverage my marketing strategy capabilities.

This course, in specific, provides an intensive curriculum that covers from Programming (Python, Pandas, R) to Statistics, Databases (SQL), AI, Big Data, Visualisation (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Bokeh), BI (Power BI, Tableau, Quick View) and Machine Learning.

What I love about it is its hands-on approach, with practical case studies and real client projects. It has been an intensive journey, but I could see results from day one.

If you could say something to yourself before you started the training, what would it be?

Keep going ;)
