From Wild Code School Bordeaux to Energici: a look back at Antoine's career

Hi there, Antoine! Can you introduce yourself in a few words? What was the trigger for your retraining in the digital sector?

Hello, my name is Antoine. I just wrapped up my web developer training at Wild Code School Bordeaux in July!

As far as my career is concerned, after having guided several French territories in their digital transformation, I decided to move over to the technical side and learn to code. I chose a long, state-recognized training course with a diploma waiting at the end. I thought this could be a plus in a job market that's actually only accessible to more experienced candidates. A five-month training course and a four-month internship are just the beginning. It's a long road to hoe!

You're currently an intern at Energici, an actor who combines tech and well-being. Can you tell us a little more about it?

Energici is a young company whose mission is to democratize the practices of well-being. This is done by providing information and assistance to company managers

Energici combines these two features by offering a participative media dedicated to professionals in the sector and a management tool with, in particular, online appointment booking and teleconsultations.

As a junior full-stack web developer, what do your daily tasks include?

We work in agile mode, so tickets are assigned to us as we go along. For this project, we started with a blank sheet of paper, so no legacy, which is quite comfortable. In the first few weeks, we focused on the front end, and we should be working on the API in the coming days.

What do you like most about your current job and the company where you're doing your internship?

Since we have to constantly seek solutions, it's intellectually stimulating. I also appreciate the flexibility that Energici offers us in the way we manage our day-to-day work.

Wellness and the digital revolution

In your opinion, is the digital turn sufficiently taken into account by the wellness sector? Why do you think so?

No, the wellness sector is still "young." Its structure is slowly emerging. At present, digital tools are used in a marginal way. This will happen little by little as the sector becomes more democratic.

What are the next steps for Energici?

The new version will be released in the next few weeks, and then other evolutions will arrive little by little through the rest of the year.

What would be your tips for combining tech and wellness in the best possible way?

Don't forget that technology is above all a facilitator and tool. Technology should make users' lives easier, so putting users at the center of each decision is essential.

Thank you for all these answers! Do you have any final words for fellow Wilders?

Learning to code is difficult, but if you're ready to invest, go for it!
