The prerequisites of our front-end development course

What does a front-end developer do? What exactly is front-end development?

A front-end developer is responsible for creating and testing the part of websites or applications that are directly visible to the user. The developer often has to work in a team, most often with clients, project managers, other developers and designers.

To work in the front-end, the necessary skills may vary, and it remains essential to master basic web programming (HTML, CSS, Javascript) and also to develop a certain creativity and sensitivity to design

This is because the main objective of front-end development is to design a website from a model or prototype that provides the smoothest possible navigation.

One thing is certain, recruiters from all sizes of companies (SMEs, start-ups, medium sized companies, large groups) are looking for skilled front-end developersIt is a profession with very strong employability.

What are the differences between a back-end developer, full stack developer and front-end developer?

As mentioned above, a front-end developer manages the development of the visible part of a website

Back-end developers handle the foundational programming that drives the functionality of the website or application – the “behind the scenes” of coding. The front end displays what the back end is performing.

In some cases, front-end developers also learn back end coding, which is referred to as “full-stack” development. In other cases, front-end developers exclusively work on that portion of the website or application. It depends on the nature of the company and team that you will end up working with. If you want to become a full-stack developer, we recommend our Web Development Course.

If I am a beginner, can I join the front-end development course?

Our training is open to all adults without prerequisite or diploma (you can integrate the web developer training without a high school diploma for example). There is no typical profile at Wild Code School. Our students are between 18 and 58 years old and are professionals in transition or wishing to develop new skills or upskill, job seekers, young graduates, entrepreneurs... Above all, we are looking for a state of mind characterized by the desire to succeed, creativity to find solutions and the ability to work in a team.

To join Wild Code School, all you have to do is validate our 3-step application process:

    • Registration on our website: you will have to fill in a form and choose the course and the campus of your choice. Our training courses take place on campus or remotely. If you want to join a remote training course, you just have to select the "Remote" campus in the language of your choice.

    • Motivational interview: you will discuss your professional project and your motivation to join Wild Code School with an admissions manager.

    • Technical interview: you will present your tech challenge (an exercise to be completed after the motivational interview) and discuss with an instructor whether you have the potential to become a tech specialist.

The application process can be completed in 1 week and registrations are open until 7 days before the start of the course.
